Layn worked in libraries in Newbury and Reading and spent some years living in Belgium with her young family, before gaining a first class degree in Illustration from Southampton Institute in 2002. Since then she has been illustrating and writing full-time, and now lives in Hampshire, UK.

Layn is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Association of Illustrators. She writes reviews for the children’s book website Writeaway, and is represented by Nancy Miles of Miles Stott Children's Literary Agency.      << Back      Awards >>
